Boxing Day at the Irish Rover

Nothing rounds out the holidays like a traditional Irish breakfast and a heavy pint of Guinness with family and friends.  Traditionally observed the day after Christmas, you can celebrate Boxing Day (also called St. Stephen's day in Ireland), in true Irish style at the Irish Rover pub in Louisville.  Located on Frankfort Avenue in the Clifton-Crescent Hill neighborhood, the pub is part of a fun walkable area home to many unique local shops, businesses and cafes.
The Boxing Day celebration offers live Irish music to accompany your delicious traditional Irish fare.  Located in a 150 year old building that originally was a saloon, the character of the Rover is about as close to a true Irish pub as you will find in Louisville.
The pub is packed for this event so get there early.  Traditional Irish breakfast and live music are from 10am-2pm, but they are open later too.  Call ahead for group reservations, or for just two or three people you can also try your chance at popping in and finding an open spot at the bar.
If you can't make it to the Irish Rover for Boxing Day, the setting is great any time of the year.  They frequently have different events, and are also a part of the FAT Friday Trolley Hop on the last Friday of the month, so check out the website before you go.  A second location called 'The Irish Rover Too' is located in Lagrange.
